ArenaNet has published a few things on their Guild Wars 2 blog this past week.
First, Bobby Stein’s article about the voices of Guild Wars 2 reveals that there will “be a big leap in audio density from GW1 to GW2.” From traditional cinematics to general ambience, the GW2 NPCs will be using their own voices rather than “soulless” text bubbles to grab your attention. You can find the full article here for more details and some sound clips!
The next blog article was posted by Community Relations Manager Regina Buenaobra and includes a multi-media presentation given by ArenaNet Creative Director Daniel Dociu at the China Games Developers Conference in Shanghai. The presentation includes slides of concept art for Guild Wars 2 accompanied by ambient sound from the game and even strains of the score composed by Jeremy Soule. Check it out, you don’t want to miss this!
Finally, a reminder that Gamescom in Cologne, Germany is coming up in less than two weeks! The Guild Wars 2 booth will be featuring the first ever live demo of the game. Other attractions include giveaways/signings of the Guild Wars 2 Art books and the first Guild Wars novel, Ghosts of Ascalon, and panel discussions with ArenaNet developers. Here’s the link to the full article.
